Nondiscrimination Policy

Hope Builds Life is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment in all aspects of its operations, programs, services, volunteer activities, partnerships, employment practices, and community engagement. The organization exists to revitalize American communities through local reinvestment and states that its mission is to drive economic growth, support the next generation of tradesmen, support veterans, and build a resilient, inclusive community where everyone can thrive.

In furtherance of that mission, Hope Builds Life does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, familial status, veteran status, military status, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

This policy applies to every area of organizational activity, including but not limited to:

  • Delivery of charitable programs and services, including economic development, workforce readiness, business mentoring, veteran support, job preparation, transition assistance, and career mentoring.

  • Recruitment and selection of board members, staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers.

  • Access to events, educational opportunities, partnerships, outreach efforts, media engagement, and fundraising activities offered by the organization through its website and community initiatives.

  • Interactions with donors, beneficiaries, community members, partner organizations, and members of the public.

Hope Builds Life will make reasonable efforts to provide equal access and fair treatment in its services and activities, and it expects all staff, volunteers, representatives, and partners acting on its behalf to uphold this policy. Retaliation against any person who reports discrimination, requests an accommodation, or participates in the review of a concern under this policy is prohibited.

Any individual who believes they have experienced discrimination in connection with Hope Builds Life may report the matter through the organization’s contact channels published on its website. Reports should be reviewed promptly and addressed in a manner consistent with applicable law and the organization’s commitment to dignity, fairness, and community inclusion.

This policy may be adopted by the board of directors or organizational leadership and reviewed periodically to ensure continued alignment with Hope Builds Life’s mission, operations, and legal obligations as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
